I Didn’t Start in Insurance.
I Started With a Question.
What happens to a family when life changes in one unexpected moment?
That question has stayed with me throughout my 26-year journey in insurance.

The Accident That Changed My Perspective
In 1999, I was working as a secretary and knew very little about insurance.
Then my cousin, an electrical technician, had a serious accident. He fell from a roof and suffered a severe spinal injury. There were no obvious external injuries, but he could not move.
His family first brought him to a government hospital. They waited for hours because, from the outside, his injuries were not immediately obvious. But a spinal injury cannot simply wait.
Eventually, his family made the difficult decision to bring him to a private hospital. The doctors immediately recognised the seriousness of his condition and arranged surgery.
What stayed with me was not only the medical bill. It was the urgency. When a serious spinal injury happens, treatment cannot wait until a family has enough money.
That was when I started asking myself: “What if this happened to me? What if it happened to my mother?”
At that time, neither my mother nor I had insurance.
I Thought Insurance Was Just Another Way to Earn
My first exposure to insurance was actually through a direct-selling company offering a membership with a medical card attached.
I thought, “This is good. I can help people, and I can earn some income too.”
Then one of my neighbours asked me a question that changed my direction:
I realised I had never thought about that. I learned that becoming an insurance agent meant proper training, examinations and representing an established insurance company.
So I decided: I would learn.
“I Don’t Think You’re Suitable for Insurance.”
I was quiet. I was shy. And I was not good at communicating.
The interviewer asked me ten questions. I properly answered only about three.
“I don’t think you’re suitable for insurance. You don’t know how to communicate with people.”
He rejected me.
And honestly, he wasn't completely wrong. I did not know how to sell. I did not know how to communicate. I did not know the insurance industry.
But I knew one thing: I wanted to learn.
I Wanted a Better Future for My Mother
I was the eldest daughter in a single-parent family. My mother worked incredibly hard, sometimes from early morning until one or two in the morning, just to support the family.
I was working as a secretary after completing my secretarial course. My income was around RM2,000 a month at that time.
I looked at my future and thought: “I don’t think I can spend the next ten years doing exactly the same thing.”
I wanted to give my mother a better life. So even after I was rejected, I told the interviewer:
And eventually, I was given the opportunity.
My Mother Gave Me One Simple Answer.
“Don’t focus on the people who don’t support you. Think about the people who already do.”
That changed my mindset.
Instead of thinking about the people who rejected me, I started thinking about the clients who trusted me.
These people had given me an opportunity. I had a responsibility to take care of them.
That became the foundation of how I work.
From a Difficult Beginning to a Long-Term Commitment
What started as a young woman looking for an opportunity became a 26-year journey in insurance and financial protection.
Over the years, I have learned that insurance is not really about policies. It is about people, families, businesses, unexpected events and the dreams people are trying to protect.
I have seen clients go through illness, accidents, business risks, family changes and difficult financial decisions. Every experience has reinforced the same belief I had when I first entered this industry:
My Role Is More Than Selling a Policy
My responsibility is to help you understand what could go wrong, what financial impact it could have, what protection you already have, where gaps may exist and what options are available.
I believe clients deserve objective, professional and understandable advice — not pressure.
The right insurance decision is not necessarily the policy with the biggest benefits. It is the protection that makes sense for your circumstances, priorities and future.
Understand First. Recommend Second.
- Understand your situation and priorities
- Review what you already have
- Identify important protection gaps
- Explain options clearly
- Consider affordability and long-term suitability
- Continue supporting you after the policy is placed
Success Creation Agency Is Built on That Belief.
My work today goes beyond individual insurance. Through Success Creation Agency, I work with individuals, families and businesses to look at protection from a broader perspective — including insurance, risk management and estate & will planning.
Because protecting a person’s future is not just about one policy. It is about looking at the bigger picture.
My Job Does Not End When the Policy Is Issued.
One of the things I learned over 26 years is that clients do not need someone who only remembers them when a policy is due. They need a clear record of their protection, timely follow-up and someone they can come back to when life changes.
Client Profile
Understand your family, business, priorities and changing circumstances — not just a policy number.
Policy Portfolio
Keep your existing protection organised so we can review what you already have before considering anything new.
Renewal Follow-Up
Important renewal dates and follow-ups should be managed proactively, not discovered at the last minute.
Claims & Servicing
When you need help after a claim or policy change, there should be a clear service trail and someone to follow through.
Every Person. Every Family. Every Business.
Has a Different Risk Story.
Bring your existing policies, questions or concerns. We can start with a conversation and work from there.
